AuxoFocus is an AI-powered Pomodoro and deep-work companion built by Auxo Digital (Pty) Ltd. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use AuxoFocus on the web, desktop or mobile apps, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We are committed to processing your data in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. Information we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Google, Microsoft or email, we store the email address associated with your account (and, where provided by the sign-in provider, your display name). Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
- Productivity data. The focus and productivity data you create in the app — Pomodoro session settings and history, tasks and planner entries, Focus DNA analytics, and lifespan-visualiser inputs — is stored in your account in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore).
- Task text for AI features. When you use the AI task breakdown, the task text you submit is sent to our AI provider (OpenRouter) solely to generate sub-task suggestions. We do not use it to train models.
- Basic technical data. Like most web apps we may process standard technical information (such as browser type and IP address) for security and, where enabled, privacy-respecting product analytics.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the AuxoFocus timer, tasks, planner and analytics features.
- To keep you signed in and sync your data across your devices.
- To generate AI sub-task suggestions when you request them.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the service.
- To respond to your support requests and comply with legal obligations.
3. We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it for advertising. We only share data with the service providers that make AuxoFocus work — primarily Google Firebase (authentication and database) and OpenRouter (AI task processing) — and only to the extent needed to run the service, or where the law requires it.
4. Data storage and security
Your account and productivity data are stored in Google Firebase, protected by Firebase’s security controls and by security rules that restrict each user’s data to their own account. Data may be processed on servers outside South Africa; where that happens we rely on the safeguards of our processors in line with POPIA.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your tasks, sessions and other content in the app at any time. To delete your account and the personal information associated with it, contact us at oz@auxo.digital and we will action the request.
6. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or update it;
- ask us to delete it;
- object to certain processing; and
- lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator.

7. Children
AuxoFocus is intended for general productivity use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be made clear within the app.
